I wake up in the morning and I get up out of bed
I got this guy named Jesus and he's roaming around my head
I used to try to block him out but now he just won't stop
But now I'm glad he's there or else my head would go and pop

He's watching over me like a shepherd with his sheep
He don't take his eyes off even when I go to sleep
He's always making sure I don't just go and screw it up
Instead he's watching me like a dog watching his pups

He's keeping me from going back to what I once did
Turning from his grace and doing what I want instead
But now I think I know the way that I'm supposed to be
Thanking Jesus every day for coming to rescue me

He's coming after me like I'm running in a race
But however fast I go he's always ahead of my pace
So whatever you've done it doesn't matter what it is
Always remember no matter what that you'll always be his

No worldly thing is better
No everything else falls short
He'll always come back sailing into his holy port
No matter what you say you'll never go off and leave

Because he knows without him you'll always have to grieve
Jesus is the one that died to save you from your sins
So we should praise and glorify him without any end
For if he never saved us then what does our story tell

We'd burn forever in the deep dark fiery pits of hell
To keep us from that we should always shout and praise
Celebrate the fact that after three days he was raised
And if anything should come between us and the Lord

We could use the holy bible as a weapon like a sword
But remember without Jesus we're like a grain of sand
But we can still be molded and shaped by his hand
No matter what we come up with or try to take his place

There's nothing as good as Jesus' unchanging grace
If you feel alone feeling like you're being forgot
Always remember that you are in one of Jesus thoughts
And if that revelation does not give you any peace

Then always keep in mind that he won't let those fears increase
And if you choose to keep your curious nose in the word
Then your gift in heaven will amount to a great reward
But remember to keep your focus always all on him

And not let the world lead you down a different path that is grim
