I'm 65 and wonderin' why
Others are gone and I'm still around
Some were smarter some kinda slow
It caught up to them I'm still on the go
In younger days those I knew
Were puzzle pieces in my life in my life
As pieces were lost the picture had holes
More unclear but it was changing
Others lost friends and their true love
We fuss and fight  but she's still around
The empty hearts I can't help
Deserving or not my heart's still intact
The final chapter I don't know
It's the next one, that's for sure
Day jobs are gone, paradise
Almost, not bad, I'm still alive
More good than bad I always tried
Mistakes and luck caused hurt by me  hurt by me
Some are gone who were worse than I
Some of the best lookin down on me
Tryin to live fast tryin to live full
How long will it last I don't want to know don't wanna know
The older generation passing through the door
With no trepidation I just ignore I just ignore
Guilt should I feel for being around
Dead friends would laugh and buy another round
Take your good luck hold it tight
Bad luck might join you you know it might
Life ain't fair better or worse
