Said the June Sucker to the Pelican
I've a curious tale to tell, my friend
One of waters in a day gone by
And how my kind did all but die
With the brave Timpanogos we had peace

In the shadow of their industry

Fishers took more than we could supply
The carp and walleye ate our fry

Til the scientists saw our dire state
Named endangered with no time to waste
The people came to aid in haste
They've built hatcheries and a new delta
Fished the carp and provided new shelter
