I love my life but I’m tired of living cheque to cheque,
I love the music but tired of getting no respect.

I’m tired of middle class, 
I’m tired of feeling guilty with wants, when most don’t have. 
I’m learning ‘want’ doesn’t mean ‘need’, 
I’m tired of chasing dreams when others don’t have a place to sleep.
I never fully came from the gutter,
4 kids and 1 mother living good but we still struggled. 
I’m tired that my color some despise,
That we have to live our lives through two sets of eyes. 
I’m tired of subtle racists,
Tired of being judged when I ain’t spoken broken English.
Yes, I’m educated I can formulate a sentence,
Cause it’s basic elementary, a subject and a predicate.
Wow, guess education is a crime,
Hip-hop respects, selling nickel bags and tricking dimes. 
So, what if I was the king of the rock, top dog of the block 
and not a college product could I still get a spot hip hop?
I’m tired of self-doubt,
I’m tired of being left out, tired of being not hot. 
But I ain’t going nowhere did I mention,
The only flat line is my potential 
I just realized how that sounds,
And no, I’m not throwing in the towel, 
One end’s on the ground and the other’s heaven bound
Still you need me to define?
If one end’s on the ground and the other’s in the sky,
Is that not still a flat line?
