Manuscript

A manuscript (abbreviated MS for singular and MSS for plural) was, traditionally, any document written by hand – or, once practical typewriters became available, typewritten – as opposed to mechanically printed or reproduced in some indirect or automated way. More recently, the term has come to be understood to further include any written, typed, or word-processed copy of an author's work, as distinguished from its rendition as a printed version of the same. Before the arrival of printing, all documents and books were manuscripts. Manuscripts are not defined by their contents, which may combine writing with mathematical calculations, maps, music notation, explanatory figures or illustrations. more »

I fell back again into bed prior to twilight
Sapped and stifled of life heavy limbs and fickle eyesight why fight it
My room is an intoxicant ambition inhibitor
Attention fixed on a television bottomless pit
I'm slipping in this inactive enacting an apathy
Apollo granted a masterpiece that I squandered away just to catch some sleep
I lost count of the sheep but domesticated both sides of the fence
Outdated awake when asleep timeless again
My mind is a den dimly lit and an alarm clock nagging at me
Proclaiming a hatch into happiness
But the fact of it is it's just some incompetent playwright
Staged insofar to prop the shade and less nod to the light
Anti phosphorus type B for ridicule
Been at peace with the cynical since leaping across to the mystical
Just a visitor carving a cave into wanderlust
Been apart from reality since the moment that she lost touch
She came alive to pick apart my habitat in dream works
Into the ether I plunge I'm slipping through her fingertips
In feverish cycles trip the panic circuit
And brandish nervous traits for sideshow acrobats I landed perfect
And shone service of faith to tame that mistress
A metaphysical strain what's that claim to fame you slipping in
To blister skin and this is not the world that I belong to
I've got to split I'm late for rainy day solitude
She came alive to pick apart my habitat in dream works
Slipped beneath her fingertips through circulating ether
Now I'm carried off into the stream float off into the comatose
As proof I'm indisposble even if just for my devotion
I'm holding a rope tight if I can hold it just a minute longer
Might wake up in time to doctor all that's lost on her
All that's lost on her
All that's lost
It's everything that's lost on her
It's all that's lost on her
And now I'm lost
From the first moment I awoke on that shortest day I nurse and poke
A heap of broken metaphors exchanged within some purple prose
The scent of rotted roses make me sleepy
I'm descending cascades of superclusters and vanish easy
Forever in debt to the protector of sleep
Dream is my conservatory performer to turn a stormy soliloquy into a beautiful monologs delivered lush
Where Dionysus can never cross it's this river of blood
And vision in flux to stuff all impressions
Less like I'm in the fog of the night and yet still in essence
I spotted the light in the apocalypse to annihilate the darkness
Why wait behold this magnificent harvest
Ripe with abundance then the sun's glow punishing
It crawls in through that pane despicable discomforting
And no I never ever even remember a dream
And I was never good at sleep as ever was she
She came alive to pick apart my habitat in dream works
Into the ether I plunge I'm slipping through her fingertips
In feverish cycles trip the panic circuit
And brandish nervous traits for sideshow acrobats I landed perfect
And shone service of faith to tame that mistress
A metaphysical strain what's that claim to fame you slipping in
To blister skin and this is not the world that I belong to
I've got to split I'm late for rainy day solitude
She came alive to pick apart my habitat in dream works
Slipped beneath her fingertips through circulating ether
Now I'm carried off into the stream float off into the comatose
As proof I'm indisposable even if just for my devotion
I'm holding a rope tight if I can hold it just a minute longer
Might wake up in time to doctor all that's lost on her
All that's lost on her
All that's lost
No there's nothing lost on her
There's nothing lost on her
It's me that's lost
It's me that's lost
