Landed in Chicago, couple years feels like ten
I'm a silhouette of the self I was back then
I hold the anger deep within my chest
And my insides leak with the guilt to make amends
Passing the places I used to know
I'm headed west down lake cook road

And the lights are still on at pizza shop I used to like
How come home never quite feels like it did
Even though I got a house, still just a place I put my shit
Now I'm home sick for a place that don't exist
As soon as I left home, the home I knew went away with it
Turning the corner of this old street
The one that would wake me up from the back seat
Now setting eyes on the house from when I was young
And I'm coming to terms with the damage you've done
We'd come so far, now it's been in years
And like a rabbit in a hat you've disappeared
Memories fade like a shirt with every wash
And I can't help but regret the time we've lost
I'm so much like you it makes me irate
How do you love someone that you hate
