I used to hurt myself, occasionally cry
It was tough but you needed to get by

And everything was as it was meant
So now we have to stop for someone else's thinking
It all moves on as quick as you find me blinking
Because they know much more than you and me
So what is it they're seeing that I don't see?

Has everything you do been so difficult of late?
There's no chance of a quick escape
Because it's all been complicated by the nanny state
Seems you didn't like it when it all was great

Looks as though you didn't even want to wait

I've scaled some dizzy heights but no one ever cared
Oh dear me, but everything's been fine
Don't you see we were living another time
I've seen some lovely sights
Where I've stopped and stared
One two three it's sad but true
And don't blame me
But it's now in everything we do

Ashamed to show your face you hide behind your bendy rules
The all-important question, are you allowed to use those tools?
No one in this place wants to stand and watch you bleed
So have you got the paperwork that no one else will read
