that for change there are just 3 things that you need. 
In their equation they have described, evolution with all of its methods intertwined.  
DIVERSITY, SELECTIVITY, and then RECOPY all the best you see. 
From some amoebae to the chimpanzee, these 3 things we see advantageously. 

Through adaptation, our genes refined, and we inherited the modern human's mind. 
In populations of Dunbar's size, co operations of small groups could survive. 
Associations would moderate, how any one of us could come to dominate. 

and that's still who we are, though we drive in cars,  
minds cant change that far in only 10 millennia. 
Every one of us, had a role to play , in selecting how we could change our ways. 

Civilization, changed everything, large populations with centralized planning. 
Organization, complexities of interactions meant rules for you and me. 
And from that moment in history, we lost 5 million years of meritocracy. 

For security we endorsed monarchy, an aristocracy, and their hegemony. 
Little diversity, no selectivity, but still recopy what we get to see, 
-NO CHANGE!
