Bismillah, I had a surreal moment the other day
This young lady approached me and had a conversation with me I was so inspired by it, I wrote a poem

If you would have saw me in this place, maybe you would have been disappointed
In no way that someone who you believe is anointed would be in this space
Shirt & tie, and mind in space, smoke in the air
Music playing but I'm not listening, in my mind I'm saying prayers
And then she approaches me
she asked me if I drink, only water sista nah now  let that boat sink
As she pulled up a seat no intoxication you may think
But I was definitely drunk off of the thoughts that had me swerving
Finally seeing her in no way I would have thought that she was pregnant with wisdom
My eyes fooled me and she began to school me
Excuse me king, do you mind if I be in your presence
And my thought was it would be rude to be unpleasant, But what I thought she wanted to give I had no desire to receive and her eyes didn't say lust so I was relieved
but I was still wondering what she was trying to achieve, so I just tapped into my chi and said Basheer just breathe
And she begin to say words that was meant for me

You are an expression of God, until we see each other as each other, then we will continue to create pain as we express pain
Not understanding that to hurt you, is to hurt me
Now the music blotted out some of her words, but I heard what was meant. It was clear she was sent, by the one who was omni present, She said
Brotha don't take lives for granted or at least that's what I think she said
cause it could have been don't take love for granted, but either way it go I was fed, I nodded my head
Beautiful sista
Others made it clear that they wanted her attention, but I had no desire for what they desired
It wasn't my intention

She said brother you are god's invention, a masterpiece, an extension
Free your heart brother and free your mind, don't put them in detention
I said well what if there's dissension, she said unity is the key and they may not always understand each other but they have to come to a point where they agree
I said well, even the salt and fresh don't mix in the sea
She said exactly that's where they agree
They accept each other for who they are and they let each other be
What is love I asked, she said it's up to you and me
Love is not a possession; you have to let people be free
I said well what if it gets return she said well it wasn't meant to be
That hurts me deeply I said, she said, yes I get it
It used to also hurt me until I got free

If I choose to share my life with you and make you a main character in my story than I'm accepting you for who you are and all of your funk & glory
I said should I accept my lovers funk?
She said, do you even have a choice
Either walk away, but when people make up their mind, do you even have a voice
My eyes became moist
She was freeing from my chains
Enslaved by these thoughts, she was my abolitionist and I didn't even know her name
she said get free brother or the stress will kill you just the same, as any bullet or disease
All because you are living with this shame, that you are not enough
Its like the smoke stopped drifting and I could literally see the musical vibrations
No one in the room moved and I promise you it was not intoxication
I could see the words people were saying
Everything stood still, except this woman who I never met who spoke to an issue that was concealed

Whoever you make the main character in your life recognize that they are the expression of the maker and they are not just toys of flesh & bone; they are much greater
They are expressions of god's, free them, let them go, let them free to be
Let yourself free to be and the one who truly loves you will not try to enslave you on the plantation of their expectations
You will love each other in a way that is freeing, I said thank you sister
as my lungs reach capacity and my ears can no longer take the blasting
but I started asking, how did I have a spiritual moment here?
Who would have thought that I would receive spiritual clarity here
I walked out and began a new path; one step at a time
