Lonely feelings
Deep inside
Across the plains
Through purple sage I ride

New horizons
Are what I need
Tall grass growing
Up to my pony's knees

I will remember
Every thing we've done
They say it's hard to wrangle
A solitary son

When I'm old and tired
I think I'm going to find
We're riding through purple sage
Somewhere in my mind

Years go by
So quick it seems
I can't recall
Those young man's dreams

And when it seems
I can never win
Visions of purple sage
Are coming back again

I will remember
Every thing we've done
They say it's hard to wrangle
A solitary son

When I'm old and tired
I think I'm going to find
We're riding through purple sage
Somewhere in my mind

I will remember
Every thing we've done
They say it's hard to wrangle
A solitary son

When I'm old and tired
I think I'm going to find
We're riding through purple sage
Somewhere in my mind
