9 am woke up this morning sun peaking through the blinds
Alarm's going off and I ain't talking bout no chimes
Check my phone scrolling feeds endlessly
While them socials feed on my mind
Check my notis
Missed call, few texts then my granny ring my line
I let it ring a lil then decline
She left a voicemail said I should go to church with her tomorrow
But ain't been there in years never really been one to follow
She still call though
I feel bad a lil but quickly move on past the sorrow

Said himself that he would do it but was already to lit up

Turned to my left saw a white boy with a red beard

Feet in concrete onlookers watching this all develop
They running to they cars heads down trying to get locked in
But it's a lot with one entrance so everybody's boxed in
I'm running low on options
Should I run or should I stay and hold my ground
Peak nightlife in the city but for the moment couldn't hear a sound
Nothing but the breeze and my threes slipping off the ground
Threatened by a squeeze over trees to be lost then found
Wanted to get it together make momma proud of her son
Should have picked up that call from granny when this day begun
'Cause First thing I saw this morning was the brightness of that sun
Now last thing I'll ever see is the barrel of this gun

This just in
There were shots fired in a local parking lot tonight
Multiple injured and one has been found dead at the scene
The deceased is survived by his family and closest friend
Who was also present at the shooting tonight
We are being told that this friend and the grandmother of the victim
Will be partnering with the local church for the funeral service
Anyone who would like to help should contact the church
Our hearts go out to all who were effected tonight
