I just can't deny this
This surge of mixed reactions is making it hard to make up my mind
Voice calls don't sound the same in my playback
Written, deleted and re-written texts don't do much to calm my spring of worries
My troubled soul makes me see blurred lines that I do not want to cross

I see a trail of shoes that left some  marks in her heart and the hurt felt in every beat feels like a quake
I wonder if I'll withstand
What will become of me if she dances to the tune of my emotions?

Will I tremble and fall and if I do get to fall, will it be in her loving embrace or out of place?
Will she forgive me?
For secretly leading her into my mind?
Will she care?
If I told her my stolen glances and stares at her make my joints weak?
If I told her the sound of her voice calling my name sends me in a wilderness of new sensations?

Her smile is inviting but there's always an Approach with caution sign when I get close
Her touch is gentle and  so soft I fear my rough palms might bruise her perfectly toned skin
There's a light shining through her beauty, so beautiful it's a pleasure being near her
There's kindness in her tone and caution in her jokes
She's got wisdom in her arguments and a great wealth of creativity

She doesn't need no mirror to tell her who's the fairest of them all
Because there's no 'them' or 'all' in her league
Undisputed she stands
You should see her frame caressing the air as she moves with fluid grace
She's got a body that would tempt a man into sin and death
She's got deep brown eyes full of intelligence and a smile that defies definition
I build myself up when I'm alone but when the moment comes and she looks at me with those eyes
I can't remember what I'm doing

And I wonder where she gets her strength from
Strength to rise up from beneath the heavy boots of sour love and Cupid's misguided arrows
Strength to take in disillusioned comments and judgments from others
She's summoned enough strength to build walls that make her feel safe
But I want to be by her fears on the other side and show her how powerless they are
Behind that bright smile is a dark past that keeps feeding from her future
Beneath those well carved legs lie a soul that's getting tired of running
Running from nightmares that have her joy on a hit list

But I don't mind
I don't mind if she feels less about her outer-self
To me she's perfect in her flaws, down-to-earth
Ask the floor
I'll give her more of the love I've got
And stick confidence in her inner-self
I'll keep making myself better
Cause she deserves better
