Last night I tucked her in
And she said daddy please don't leave me
Stay by my bed for just a little while
So I sat there on my knees
While she faded off to dreamland
And I asked the Lord to please slow down the time
As I snuck back down the hall
I tripped over her tea set
I turned the cartoons off
But I couldn't help but smile

Cause there's gonna be boys and dates and perfume
Broken hearts and curfews on her mind
Lord she'll drive me crazy
Some days she'll probably hate me and have a right
She'll be thinking will he kiss me
I'll be thinking does she miss me
But tonight I know that I've got time
Cause she still watches Disney

When I laid down in my bed
I saw a note there on my nightstand
It said I love you Daddy I hope this makes you smile
I walked back to her room
And I kissed her on the forehead
I had to see my sleeping princess one more time
And as I fall asleep you talk about one more proud papa
Cause I'm still a hero
If just for a little while

While I'm fading off to heaven
And ask the Lord to please slow down the time
As she walks down the hall
And leaves room 102 in the rear view
She'll wipe the tears but she just can't help but smile

Cause there'll be playing in the front yard
Daddy's smile and big heart on her mind
She'll say that man drove me crazy
But it's just because he made me toe the line
But she still gets to kiss me
And she don't have to miss me cause tonight
I know that I've got time
Cause she still watches Disney
