Above the spires and the cranes
I've been here long, far too long
Dying on the vine
I've seen a thousand somber sunsets
I've felt a thousand cooling rains
And I've heard songs, so many songs
From barcarolles to sonnets
No magic remains
But there's something new and strange
I think i feel the wind of change
But I am no good as a prophet
There's something just out of sight
Standing in the golden light
I'm hopeful guessing at a silhouette
Could this be my best adventure yet?
There are horizons in my spirit
The northern lights are in your eyes
And we can take the world by storm
If only we believe it
I won't be surprised
The hue of the northern sky
Really makes me wish that
I were somewhat better as a poet
There's something I've never seen
And whatever it may mean
It's something no one ever could forget
But it might be my best adventure yet
I know there will come a day
When I'll be taken far away
as far away as I will ever get
But here in the evening glow
Suddenly I feel, I know
That there is one thing I will not regret
The crowd is waiting and the stage is set
And this will be my best adventure yet
