It was just another day in the ghetto, where a young black boy wanted to Pray to the devil so he strayed to the metal Just trying to make a statement because he lacked faith But instead, he was shot by another black face Another day in the ghetto, Where this young black girl was being ignored by her mother So she ran to her brothers Raped and molest, turned her pity into fear A good girl gone bad which kept the city in queer Another day in the ghetto Police slacked around in a city so corrupt black bodies being found More coffins in the ground, this isn’t a safe place This is the very same city of the president’s stake Another day in the ghetto where Kids turning bids Forming a new triple K, that’s *K*ids *K*illing *K*ids Prisons shred data of black men in our dead times When I read the morning paper this was on the headlines… Can’t you see what’s going on in our community? Can’t you see they know what’s wrong of you & me? Can’t you see that we’re in need for more unity? So many Black kids getting killed before puberty Can’t you see what’s going on in our community? Can’t you see they know the wrong's of you & me? Well I guess we were born in the vapors Because this is how it is when we read the morning papers It was just another day in the ghetto Where we all seen the news of a black robbery of a teen & his shoes No witnesses or clues of him murdered to death We rather take from someone else than to earn it ourselves Another day in the ghetto Where women show their flesh prostitution unattested Exchanging money over sex Real dignity is less prevalent to stand Without the strength inside our women shit we don’t have a chance Just another day in the ghetto Where the Arabic’s own every liquor store known In a city over thrown Living in the outer zone, scheming for rich They like to cater to our struggles like a demon in trenches Another day in the ghetto Where the mayor doesn’t care Of these black homicide’s You know it wasn’t fair How the city let it ride black people in our dead times When I read the morning paper this was on the headlines Can’t you see what’s going on in our community? Can’t you see they know the wrong's of you & me? Can’t you see that we’re in need for more unity? So many Black kids getting killed before puberty Can’t you see what’s going on in our community? Can’t you see they know the wrong's of you & me? Well I guess we were born in the vapors Because this is how it is when we read the morning papers It was just another day in the ghetto Where a Segregated scape divided people of their race Not a unified place, only mortified hate, A swivel heightened terror It’s like our city still living in the civil rights era Another day in the ghetto Where the politician's throb Over citizens living more people losing jobs More evil through the mobs The rich will depend on it City is corrupt and the politicians in on it A day in the ghetto where the murder rate Increase chalk lines in the streets He caught nine rests in peace, Funerals getting steep, they become a war zone While the churches be deplete, we have so many more gone Another day in the ghetto Where the blacks undermine, We have to take our city back Even if it means crime, formulate a new gang Exchanging every deadline looking though this paper I'm influenced by this headline Can’t you see what’s going on in our community? Can’t you see they know the wrong's of you & me? Can’t you see that we’re in need for more unity? So many Black kids getting killed before puberty Can’t you see what’s going on in our community? Can’t you see they know the wrong's of you & me? Well I guess we overcame all the vapors Because this is how we changed the daily morning papers Can’t you see what’s going on in our community? Can’t you see they know the wrong's of you & me? Can’t you see that we’re in need for more unity? So many Black kids getting killed before puberty Can’t you see what’s going on in our community? Can’t you see they know the wrong's of you & me? Well I guess we overcame all the vapors Because this is how we changed the daily morning papers
