Intro: (0:00-0:09)
All the drama, just seemed to play on repeat/
Inhabited in a full house of drama/
A lot time spent, as an outlier/
Within the household drama.
Verse 1:(0:09-0:52)
Grew up in a Drayton Valley on a side street/
And my dad gave my family a taste of grief/
Workin’ at a sawmill, just to pay the bills/
Brainwashing his younger sons to place blame on the shrills/
Separating his sons and daughters from seein’ his relatives/
With his older brother, knockin’ from outside/
Shyin’ away, just starin’ hysterically at Santi Niño/
Tearin’ my heart apart like a six pack of shingles/
But my dad was too self-centred to care enough/
Confiscatin’ my brothers 2006 GMC truck/
And that’s when an active volcano erupted/
And my sister was galavantin’ around town/
Partyin’ at the Derrick Lounge when it spiralled down/
Just housed in a household with no set escape/
Below the basement feelin’ like an evicted rental vacant/
Because every known misstep, I took slowed up my cadence.
Bridge: (0:52-1:04)
Spawnin’ within the drama that respawned/
Only hearin’ the silent screams respond/
Cause my father took my mom for granted when she was gone/
And the only thing she left with us was her empty palm.
Hook: (1:04-1:24)
Housed in a household of worldly drama/
Dealin’ with the stress of havin’ no mother/
With no hand to hold in the household/
Of drama that was made to be imposed/
Circlin’ back and forth into constant drama/
Withheld within a household of drama/
Caught up in the daily household drama/
Tryin’ to scrape off the open cuts of the repressed trauma.
Verse 2: (1:24-2:05)
My cousin Dexter cracked our screen door/
Chuckin’ stones like it was an everyday war/
Sittin’ in the basement getting’ disciplined/
Till we cried out, and puked our guts out/
Insisted by my brothers friends to piss on a skateboard/
And dad was strugglin’ to pay off his broken down ford/
And it all collapsed into constant distress/
With the open rift holes, tearin’ into my upper chest/
And my Uncle snatched us in his 2007 mustang/
Mom was furious of us going into unfamiliar settings/
And mom was at home fumin’, cleanin’ houses for a livin’/
Listenin’ to the rosary to save me from the fires of help/
No, Dad I want to be an inspiration for myself/
I don’t want to be housed, separated from being myself/
Why did you leave us out to dry at our Auntie’s house/
And remarry a Filipino who has burnt marks on herself.
Hook: (2:05-2:24)
Housed in a household of worldly drama/
Dealin’ with the stress of havin’ no mother/
With no hand to hold in the household/
Of drama that was made to be imposed/
Circlin’ back and forth into constant drama/
Withheld within a household of drama/
Caught up in the daily household drama/
Tryin’ to scrape off the open cuts of the repressed trauma.
Verse 3: (2:24- 3:07)
Back when I was hidin’ away behind a couch/
My dad circled the corner block for six laps, till he lashed out/
Sayin’ we had to attend the early five o’lock mass/
And it shuttered my eyes, with an open flash/
Seein’ the vivid memories, left on the mantelpiece/
With my mom’s China Cabinet, shattered into pieces/
Day by day, the daily drama escalated with every move/
While, it unfolded mom was lyin’ on her deathbed/
And I was dazed and confused in the kitchen/
Stressed over the drama that was self-inflictin’/
Hearin’ arguments back and forth in the kitchen/
And my sister was screamin’ at my younger brother/
To attend school, or be like your dad pilin’ six stacks of lumber/
For the rest of your life, sufferin’ without a puffer to recover/
But every move my brother made he resisted to even listen/
And the drama had me circlin’ back, as the perceived victim.
Hook: (3:07- 3:31)
Housed in a household of worldly drama/
Dealin’ with the stress of havin’ no mother/
With no hand to hold in the household/
Of drama that was made to be imposed/
Circlin’ back and forth into constant drama/
Withheld within a household of drama/
Caught up in the daily household drama/
Tryin’ to scrape off the open cuts of the repressed trauma.
Outro: (3:31-3:38):
Since 1997, I have been livin’ through this household drama/
