The song i search for was performed on Glen Campbell show, early 70's, a folk or folk-rock style, the 2 phrases i can remember are, paraphrased, "when he asks you about your long hair, just tell him you grew it to keep the cold wind off your neck" and "He just wants to be a part of your life". The singer is giving advice to a young friend about how to get along with his Dad. I have been searching a long time... only these 2 verses, and i'm not sure how exact they are. I realize this is terribly vague....
