When it becomes bigger than the both of us-
Too much to take.
A sudden slip in faith and trust,
To make you ache,
And it makes you wink-
You don’t want love to become extinct,
Not sooner than you think.
So, I’ll play my harp in low key,
And hope and pray – it doesn’t happen to me.

With promises to be made,
And tradition, built on trust.
To keep our love alive,
To give our best, a must.

Tradition lasts for years,
Longer than a life span.
Why then can’t our love,
Make one final stand? 

When it becomes too hot to handle-
Or too cold to get your feet wet,
Much too strong to cope.
A sudden fade from the “sweet bet”,
Much too gone for hope.
And it makes you scared / for it never fared,
As well as it should have-
So, I’ll play my harp in low key,
And hope and pray – it doesn’t happen to me.
