Jon Wayne & The Pain

The four-piece Twin-Cities, Minnesota rockers, Jon Wayne and The Pain (aka JWP) are best known for innovating acoustic-electronic dub, heightened with conscious lyrics and catchy riddims. The quartet has been mesmerizing fans for a decade, with their signature JWP cosmic-blend of electronic beats, fused with uplifting roots-driven beats and a hearty dash of conscious lyricism. The band has carved a sizable niche for itself in the electronic and reggae-rock genres by their coast-to-coast road-warrior tours, playing more than one hundred and thirty shows per year and have blazed two sold-out shows at the Cabooze, filled with 1,000 attendees and recently had more than 800 at the famed First Avenue in Minneapolisfor their CD Release Party. The band has performed on some of the nations most renowned music and art festivals, as Electric Forest, Summer Camp, Cali Roots, Shangri-laand Wakarusa to name a few. JWP incorporates musical ingredients, filled with vibrant acoustic-electronic riffs, coupled with a delicate splash of roots-reggae and socially conscious lyricism. Over the years, the band has developed a sort of DzDeadheaddz Midwest following, as a proven mainstay in the ever-evolving music and festival scene.

To the nights of the sold-out, hometown shows, to the days that we had no soul To the people we loved along the way, to the music that never gets old Could I stay right sized, could we be unified, an existence just a piece of the pie To all the places we been and the struggles within, seems the struggles made me into the man that I am. Do we remember what we started for. Did we bring love, or did we bring war. You're too blessed to be stressed, don't keep living in the past You're forgiven, now just open the door. Do we remember what we started for. Did we bring love, or did we bring war. You're too blessed to be stressed, don't keep living in the past You're forgiven, now just open the door.

When the moon came up, and the sun went down, I reflected on the journey so far. Like my family in the banyan tree, it grows deeper when I look at the stars. Laying down on the sand, staring up at the sky, I sure contemplate through space and time You got fuel that feeds my soul fire with ease, take a look around, you know who you are. If we're not grateful for what we have now, What makes us think that we'd be happier with more? If we're not grateful for what we have now, What makes us think that we'd be happier with more? Do we remember what we started for. Did we bring love, or did we bring war. You're too blessed to be stressed, don't keep living in the past You're forgiven, now just open the door. Do we remember what we started for. Did we bring love, or did we bring war. You're too blessed to be stressed, don't keep living in the past You're forgiven, now just open the door.
