The song “Chase Hate Away, America USA,” released on 10/14/24, features five lead vocalists, a full string orchestra, and choir. Tony Gilmore, aka “Shoshyn” formerly of “Kool & the Gang,” performs the first verse. June Medley Payne a former member of “The 3 Degrees” takes the second verse. Wilson Staley aka “Mickey” is one of Philly’s top vocalists, delivers the third verse. US Military Veteran Carman Bryant worked with members of the “SOS Band” delivers the 4th verse as a tribute to those who sacrificed their lives to protect American freedom. The bridge is sung by Doug Payne, a former member of the Sister Sledge “We Are Family” tour. Composer Douglas J. Payne was roused from sleep at approximately 3:00 AM in the autumn of 2023 when the lyrics for a song came to him. In a state of half-consciousness, he quickly penned the lyrics before returning to bed. The following morning, he began composing the chorus and subsequently completed four verses that encapsulated the emotions surrounding the 2024 Presidential election. His wife, June Payne, directed and arranged a full choir along with local vocalists from Philadelphia. The chorus parts were recorded on AMERICAN STREET in Philadelphia prior to the addition of the lead vocals, utilizing five different recording studios in the US and Canada.
