G7 Records is an internationally focused Canadian music label owned by Universal Music Group in affiliation with Interscope Records. G7 was co-founded in 2004 by President/CEO Kwajo Cinqo of two-time Juno award winning hip-hop group Ghetto Concept. The current artists surfacing on G7’s roster all emerge from Toronto (Ontario, Canada)—a city that is becoming increasingly accredited as a new breeding ground for hip-hop. The label aims to bring a sound and authenticity from Canada that has not yet been exposed nationally or on a global scale. G7 has used digital media and technology for its wide range of enterprises in the urban entertainment sector. This includes recording, music publishing, digital distribution, artist management, merchandising, video and film production, and concerts.
