Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Deborah began performing at the fearless age of 4 years old and has performed on stages all over the world. Although she became an award winning pianist, critically acclaimed actress, published author, and featured dancer, it was music that eventually won her heart. After playing in several bands, winning various local contests for best vocalist and best overall talent, it seemed that her love of music was one she couldn't deny. She has been writing, recording and performing ever since. Often described as a cross between Alanis Morrisette, Sherrie Austin, Faith Hill, Sheryl Crow and even Dolly Parton, Deborah Bishop's sound is distinctly her own. Categorized as a New Country Pop Artist, Deborah's vibrant energy practically leaps off the stage when she's on it. Her voice has a raw power that can fade to a whisper one moment, and then blow the doors off the room in the next. The most common thing people say after having seen her perform for the first time is: "How does that big voice come out of such a little girl?" With her band, Deborah Bishop offers a unique freshness that is energizing to listen to and fun to watch live! When Deborah is not working on her music, you will find her writing, producing and performing comedic industrial theater with her company, Brain Brew Entertainment. She also enjoys working with other artists, doing session work and lyric doctoring. Deborah is also affiliated with World Hunger Year / Artists against Hunger and Poverty (WHY.org). A percentage of all her earnings go to this organization in support of the good works they do.
