Way way back when time begun
Old Grey Eagle owned the sun
The moon, the stars and the water too
Said to the people - I’m keepin’ them from you

Cold and blind cold and blind
I’m gonna keep you cold and blind
wouldn’t trust a single one of you

You can’t be trusted with such things
like magpies with the silver rings
sun and moon are mine mine mine

The Eagle’s daughter cast her eye across the birds
and she said Oh My
I think I’ll have that handsome Raven boy

Took him to her daddy’s place
and you shoulda seen his Raven face
when he copped the stash Grey Eagle kept within

Man he said - it can’t be right
no moon to light the sky at night
no sun to brighten up the people’s day.

So he stole ‘em all and away he flew
down Old Grey Eagle Avenue
high into the midnight raven sky

Hung the sun its rightful spot
the moon and all the stars he’d got
and he hollered -Let em shine shine shine!

He fixed them in the firmament that revolutionary gent and he hollered - Let ‘em shine shine shine!
Fixed them in the firmament that revolutionary gent and he hollered - Let ‘em shine shine shine!
