by The Creation

Creation were an English rock band, formed in 1966. The most popular Creation song was "Painter Man", which made the Top 40 in the UK Singles Chart in late 1966, and reached #8 in the German chart in April 1967. It was later covered by Boney M in 1979, and reached the #10 position in the UK chart. Their song "Makin' Time" was used in the movie, Rushmore. Guitarist Eddie Phillips described their sound as: "Our music is red – with purple flashes."[citation needed]

Making time
Shooting lines
For people to believe in
Things you say
Gone in a day
Everybody leavin'
Everybody leavin'

Why do we have to carry on?
Always singing the same old song
Same old song
The same old song

Tellin' lies
Closing your eyes
Making more excuses
Pullin' the wool
Actin' the fool
People have their uses
People have their uses

Why do we have to carry on?
Always singing the same old song
Same old song
The same old song

Lookin' for
An open door
Never taking chances
Take your pick
Makes you sick
Seekin' new advances
Seekin' new advances

Why do we have to carry on?
Always singing the same old song
Same old song
The same old song
