Oh mother, what have you done
Made a momma's boy out of your favourite son
I pretend I'm doing other things
But I can't break free of your apron strings
Oh mother, what have you done

Oh father, your line was true
I've inherited your bad attitude
The more I take, the worse I get
I tell everyone they ain't seen nothing yet
Oh father, what have you done

Driven by desire to have it all
I won't lift a finger, I'd rather crawl
It may be rightly yours but that's for now
You will see me make it mine somehow

Oh mother, help me please
Got myself in trouble and it's deep
A couple of hundred will see me right
I'll pay it back, well maybe, if that's all right
Oh mother, help me please

Oh brother, can't you see
I need you now, I need your company
Don't turn away, don't turn your back
I promise now I'm on the right track
Oh brother, can't you see

Driven by desire to have it all
I won't lift a finger, I'd rather crawl
I'll suck you in you know I've got the knack
I'll shake your hand then stab you in the back
