Rainbow sherbert Peru

It flew through the South Pole
And Antarctic frost
Through Paradise Harbor
Where it almost got lost

But the small wispy hair
All fragile and curled
Did not feel so small
In such a big world

Riding down the asphalt line in Sonoran heat
Mind wanders to the point where sun and sand meet
I’m gonna climb a mesa to the sky
And sleep upon the rocks in chill of night

I’ll wake up drowsy and blind

Wandering the desert land, my footprints alone
Long for isolation in the empty zone
Seeking shade beneath a saguaro stalk
Looking down the path I’ll once again walk

I’ll ride west thirsty and dry

Riding north and west to reach the Mojave
Gonna reach the Sierra and Cali montane
Spending one last night beneath the Sonoran stars

A stubborn fact of this desert life
Is the sun decides how your gonna survive
Sometimes its warm and makes a day glide by

So I head up to the hills where the air can have a chill

From every mountain stream I've walked
I learned the water don't talk until the right woman drinks it as wine

Another crack in that tired dam

They call it "recalamation" but it looks like faith

We somehow find a way to make it through a day
But it doesn't often turn out as planned
And so the bars fill up at night to keep this way of life
As something we should never do again

I hold on to my dogs and some friends
And so the bars are full tonight with bloodshot eyes
