Sun King

The sounds of birds chirping, which are heard in the beginning and end of the song, were taken from "Volume Seven: Birds of Feather," from the collection "Sound Effect of Man and His World," provided by sound engineer Alan Parsons.

The song includes three lines of loosely translated Spanish and Italian phrases: "Quando para mucho mi amore de felice corazon, Mundo paparazzi mi amore chica ferdy parasol, Questo obrigado tanto mucho cake and eat it carousel." The English translation of these words and phrases doesn't form a coherent sentence, suggesting that they were chosen more for their sound than meaning.

Lennon reportedly was inspired to write "Sun King" after waking up from a dream with the melody in his head. He also said that the song's style was influenced by Fleetwood Mac's instrumental "Albatross."

The Beatles recorded "Sun King" in July 1969 at the iconic Abbey Road Studios. The multitrack tapes reveal that the recording was quite complex, with several overdubbed vocal and instrumental tracks.

The key of the song is E major, towards the end transitioning to a key of A with the inclusion of a flamenco-style guitar.

As with many Beatles songs, "Sun King" is a blend of several different genres. It is considered a pop rock song but also includes elements of psychedelic and folk rock.

While not released as a single, "Sun King" has received generally positive reviews from critics. It is often cited for its atmospheric production and intricate harmonies.
