Ashanti

Ashanti (born Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas; October 13, 1980) is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, and actress. She rose to fame in the early 2000s. Ashanti is most famous for her eponymous debut album, which featured the hit song "Foolish", and sold over 503,000 copies in its first week of release throughout the U.S. in April 2002. The album set a Soundscan record as the biggest opening week sales for a new female artist, outselling debuts by Alicia Keys and Lauryn Hill. In the same week, she became the first female performer to simultaneously hold the top two places on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart with "Foolish", and "What's Luv?" (with Fat Joe). Well, well, well, well,
Hello baby, one day you're here
And then you're gone

[Chorus]
One day you're here and then you're gone
One day you're here and then you're gone
One day you're here and then you're gone
One day you're here and then you're gone

Listen everyday we complain about little ups and downs
We need to be thanking the Lord that we are still around
You'll never ever know when it is your time to go
And I know it's hurting so bad to lost people that we love
We got to use that example and try and straighten up
You got to live everyday as if your last one
See one minute you're here and then the next day you're gone

[Chorus: x4]

See lately I wake up in the morning wanting to cry
I bend my knees and I raise my head up into the sky
And sometimes I just can't fight my feelings I have inside I
See I always wish that you would be here right by my side
I'm glad I told you I love you so much before you died
I knew you couldn't and wouldn't be here for very long
See one minute you're here and the next day ya gone

[Chorus: x4]

Sometimes the world that we live in don't seem so fair or forgiving,
These streets are hard to survive in cause all day you see people dying
And I pray that one day we all see that life ain't promised to you
And life ain't promised to me,
Never forget this and be clear
We don't know how long we gon' be here
