Sin

Nine Inch Nails

About Sin

"Sin" is the third single by American artist Nine Inch Nails from the album Pretty Hate Machine. Released in October 1990, the song peaked at number 35 in the UK Singles Chart."Sin" has been commonly a staple of Nine Inch Nails live performances for many years; setlist.fm lists it as the band's ninth most played live song. Its versions on the single differentiate heavily from the album cut, with more an EBM sound with distorted vocals and alternate instrumentation that became the foundation for its many live renditions, as opposed to the synth-pop style featured on Pretty Hate Machine.

You give me the reason
You give me control
I gave you my purity
My purity you stole
Did you think I wouldn't recognize
This compromise
Am I just too stupid to realize
Stale incense
Old sweat
And lies lies lies

It comes down to this
Your kiss
Your fist
And your strain
It get's under my skin
Within
Take in the extent of my sin

You give me the anger
You give me the nerve
Carry out my sentence
While I get what I deserve.
I'm just an effigy to be disgraced
To be defaced
Your need for me has been replaced
And if I can't have everything
Well then just give me a taste

It comes down to this
Your kiss
Your fist
And your strain
It get's under my skin
Within
Take in the extent of my sin

You give me the reason
You give me control
I gave you my purity
My purity you stole
Did you think I wouldn't recognize
This compromise
Am I just too stupid to realize
Stale incense
Old sweat
And lies lies lies

It comes down to this
Your kiss
Your fist
And your strain
It get's under my skin
Within
Take in well my sin

It comes down to this
Your kiss
Your fist
And your strain
It get's under my skin
Within
Take in the extent of my sin

Nine Inch Nails

Nine Inch Nails (abbreviated as NIN, sometimes stylized as NIИ) is an American industrial rock project, founded in 1988 by Trent Reznor in Cleveland, Ohio. As its main producer, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist, Reznor is the only official member of Nine Inch Nails and remains solely responsible for its direction. Nine Inch Nails' music straddles a wide range of genres. After recording a new album, Reznor (until the 2009 Wave Goodbye Tour) usually assembles a live band to perform with him. The touring band features a revolving lineup that often rearranges songs to fit a live setting. On stage, Nine Inch Nails often employs visual elements to accompany performances, which frequently include light shows. more »
