The Outfield

The Outfield are an English pop rock/power pop power trio based in London, England. The Outfield are unusual for a British band in that they enjoyed commercial success in the U.S., but never enjoyed a similar success in their homeland. They began recording during the mid-1980s, and they released their first album, Play Deep, in 1985 through Columbia Records. The album reached No. 9 on the Billboard 200 list and then reached triple platinum in America. Their single "Your Love" reached No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as No. 7 on the Mainstream Rock chart, and it became their signature song. It went on to be featured in a number of 80s-themed compilation albums, and over 1,000 covers and remixes by other artists have been released physically and/or online… more »

Open hearts
Open eyes
Open scars that are left upon
Open minds
Sacred words
Storytellers exaggerate
Shallow lies

After the hurt has gone away
Oh` will we feel the pain
After the storm begins to turn
Oh` will we ever learn

Open doors
Open books
Tragic stories repeated still
Chase the wind
Catch a breath
Watch a child when it falls

It`s never too late to say a prayer
It might be all we got to share
There`s always a hope that someone`s there

Don`t confirm unless it`s sure
Don`t pretend to know a cure
Don`t convince the world you`re right
Don`t deny you`ve never lied
