About You're the Inspiration

"You're the Inspiration" is a song written by Peter Cetera and David Foster for the group Chicago and recorded for their fourteenth studio album Chicago 17 (1984), with Cetera singing lead vocals. The third single released from that album, it reached No. 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in January 1985 and also climbed to the top position on the adult contemporary chart at the same time. The song won honors for Cetera from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), in 1986 in the most-performed songs category. You know our love was meant to be
The kind of love that lasts forever
And I want you here with me
From tonight until the end of time
You should know
Everywhere I go
You're always on my mind
In my heart in my soul baby

You're the meaning in my life
You're the inspiration
You bring feeling to my life
You're the inspiration
I want to have you near me
I want to have you hear me saying
No one needs you more than I need you

And I know
Yes I know
That it's plain to see
So in love when we're together
Now I know (now I know)
That I need you here with me
From tonight until the end of time
You should know everywhere I go
You're always on my mind
In my heart in my soul

You're the meaning in my life
You're the inspiration
You bring feeling to my life
You're the inspiration
I want to have you near me
I want to have you hear me saying
No one needs you more than I need you (no one needs you more than I)

I want to have you near me
I want to have you hear me saying
No one needs you more than I need you (no one needs you more)

You're the meaning in my life
You're the inspiration
You bring feeling to my life
You're the inspiration

When you love somebody till the end of time
When you love somebody always on my mind
No one needs you more than I
When you love somebody till the end of time
When you love somebody always on my mind
