One Day

Although "One Day" was not separately released as a single, the album "Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor" experienced considerable chart success. It stayed at number one of the Dutch album chart for 30 non-consecutive weeks, breaking a record previously held by Michael Jackson's Thriller.

"One Day" incorporates elements of pop, jazz, and swing, combining contemporary sounds with a vintage aesthetic.

The lyrics of the song speak about a protagonist who dreams of a better romantic future – "One Day" they will find someone to love them.

Like many of the songs in the album, "One Day" features the rich sounds of a gypsy-jazz style rhythm guitar, horns, and sometimes even orchestral arrangements.

The album where the song "One Day" is included was written in collaboration between Caro Emerald, David Schreurs, Vincent Degiorgio, and Jan van Wieringen.

The album, "Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor," won the Dutch music prize "Edison Award" for Best Album in 2011.

The song "One Day", along with the entire album, was received well critically, with HMV describing it as a "sassy mix of bubbling beats and '40s jazz."
