Billboard Hot 100 chart at the end of December 1974 and became one of Reddy's biggest-selling singles. The song also topped the U. S. adult contemporary chart, Reddy's fifth #1 on this chart. The song's cryptic lyrics have inspired a number of listener theories as to what the song is really about. Helen Reddy (born 25 October 1941) is an Australian-born singer and actress. She is often referred to as the "Queen of 70s Pop". In the 1970s, she enjoyed international success, especially in the United States, where she placed fifteen singles in the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. Six of those 15 songs made the Top 10 and three of those songs reached No. 1, including her signature hit "I Am Woman." She also placed 25 singles on the Billboard Adult Contemporary charts. Fifteen of those singles made the Top 10 and 8 of those reached No. 1. She was the first artist to ever win the coveted American Music Award for "Favorite Pop/Rock Female" artist.
