Johnny Adams's 1969 version was his biggest hit, peaking at number 8 on the American R&B charts and number 28 on the pop charts. In the same year Ray Pillow's country version hit number 38 on the country charts. The highest charting version is by American country music artist Narvel Felts. Released in 1975, it was the first single from his album Narvel Felts. The song peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. It also reached number 1 on the RPM Country Tracks chart in Canada. Reconsider Me was the title track of a 1971 album by John Wesley Ryles, and as a single it hit #39 on the country charts.
