Keep Me In Mind

About Keep Me In Mind

"Keep Me in Mind" was a No. 1 country hit for vocalist and entertainer Lynn Anderson in 1973. This song was one of 11 No. 1 country hits for Anderson. Her career was still going strong three years after her major crossover hit, "(I Never Promised You A) Rose Garden". By this time, Anderson's material had changed to more sophisticated country music, Countrypolitan, which was all about producing and recording more pop-oriented songs in order for country singers to attract a larger listening audience. Even though this song had no hint of traditional country, the song did not make the Billboard's Pop Hot 100 chart. However, she would crossover onto the pop charts with future hits. An album of the same name was also released in 1973.

Ain't it kinda funny they say a fool never learns play with fire and it always burns
Don't it kinda get you down you treat me worse than before
But I keep comin' back for more
'Cause you're a deceiver and I'm a believer it's just a game I know
But I can't seem to let go
So fool me fool me one more time you can fake just for old time's sake
Look in my eyes tell me those lies and just fool me fool me one more time

Don't it make you wonder why I keep playing make believe
Do you really think I'm that naive
Don't it make you sad I'm actin' like I got it made even though it's just a masquerade
'Cause you're a deceiver and I'm a believer it's just a game I know

But I can't seem to let go
So fool me fool me one more time...
Fool me fool me one more time...
Come on fool me one more time fool me one more time
Honey fool me one more time fool me one more time
