The Trammps

The Trammps were an American disco and soul band, who were based in Philadelphia and were one of the first disco bands. The band's first major success was with their 1972 cover version of "Zing! Went the Strings of My Heart". The first disco track they released was "Love Epidemic" in 1973. However, they are best known for their Grammy winning song, "Disco Inferno", originally released in 1976 becoming a UK pop hit and US R&B hit, then re-released in 1978 and becoming a US pop hit. The music journalist Ron Wynn noted "the Trammps' prowess can't be measured by chart popularity; Ellis' booming, joyous vocals brilliantly championed the celebratory fervor and atmosphere that made disco both loved and hated among music fans." more »

Ow, Trammps got something we wanna talk about
Yeah, are you ready?
And it sounds a little something like this:

You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town

(Now listen, I got something else to say)

He's making a list
And checking it twice;
He's gonna find out Who's naughty and nice
Santa Claus is coming to town (hey, yeah)

He sees you when you're sleeping (when you're sleeping )
He knows when you're awake (you're awake)
He knows if you've been bad or good (bad or good)
So be good for goodness sake!

O! You better watch out!
Better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town, y'all
Oh ha, he's comin' comin' to town
Comin', comin' to town (oh, he's comin' to town)
Comin', comin' to town (listen, listen, he knows when you're sleeping)
(He knows when you're awake) Comin', comin' to town (he knows if you've been bad or good)
(so be good for goodness sake) Comin', comin' to town (oh, better watch out)
(you better not pout) Comin', comin' to town (Santa Claus, y'all is comin' to town, Santa Clause y'all)
Comin', comin' to town (he's comin', comin' to town, y'all, he's comin' to town)
Comin', comin' to town (get it y'all, Trammps wanna leave you with this)
