About My Baby Loves Lovin'

"My Baby Loves Lovin'" was the top selling single for the British pop group White Plains. The song was written by Roger Cook and Roger Greenaway, recorded on 26 October 1969, and released on 9 January 1970 on the Decca Records imprint, Deram Records. One of the vocalist's is session singer Tony Burrows. Burrows sang lead for Edison Lighthouse, The Pipkins, and the first line-up of Brotherhood of Man. The lead vocalist on the session is thought to be Ricky Wolff, however, there are various sources claiming that Tony was the lead singer. It was later claimed by The White Plains that Ricky Wolff sang lead on the track with Tony Burrows as a background voice. However, it has also been stated that Tony and Ricky sang a dual lead. Burrow's was the lead singer for the Edison lighthouse cover in 1971. Listeners can hear that there is a difference between the original which backs up statements that Tony was not the lead singer.

My baby loves love
My baby loves lovin'
She's got what it takes
And she know how to use it

My baby loves love
My baby loves lovin'
She's got what it takes
And she know how to use it

I was lonely once in this great big world

Just a nowhere man without his girl
When she came my way

She smiled at me as if to say

My baby loves love
My baby loves lovin'
She's got what it takes
And she know how to use it

My baby loves love
My baby loves lovin'
She's got what it takes
And she know how to use it

She's the only one makes me feel so good
Believing in my lovin' so I'm all gone good
All my sorrows and fears seem to fly away
She looks at me as if to say

My baby loves love
My baby loves lovin'
She's got what it takes
And she know how to use it
For me

No more lonely nights waiting for the phone to ring
No more lonely days my baby's taken care of everything
I'm telling you people

My baby loves love
My baby loves lovin'
She's got what it takes
And she know how to use it

My baby loves love
My baby loves lovin'
She's got what it takes
And she know how to use it

She's the only one makes me feel so good
Believing in my lovin'
All my sorrows and fears seem to fly away
She looks at me as if to say

My baby loves love
My baby loves lovin'
She's got what it takes
And she know how to use it...
