Hi-Standard

Hi-Standard was a Japanese melodic hardcore band who formed in 1991. The release Making the Road sparked sold-out Japan shows and US/European tours with punk bands such as NOFX, No Use for a Name and WIZO. Although members of Hi-Standard were Japanese born, all of the band's major releases were sung in English. Live footage of the band shows them talking to the crowd in their native Japanese and then immediately changing to English for the songs. more »

Now that I know, why did I doubt you?
I let you go, now I'm without you
Thought I was cool, imagination
I was the fool, fell to temptation

But you won't see me cry
'Cause it's no good
Since you said goodbye, and, now...

[Chorus:]
Honey, I gotta stop, gotta stop pickin' up
Gotta pull myself together
Honey, I'm breaking up
Now that we ain't makin' up
Just gotta pull myself together

I was so sure it wouldn't upset me
I close the door, why did you let me?
I lose control, out of sensation
I'm in the cold, sad situation

I try hard not to say
It hurt so bad since you went away

[Chorus]

Baby, I want you; baby, I need you
But you won't see me cry
'Cause it's no good
Since you said goodbye, and, now...

[Chorus]
