All That I Can Say

Mary J. Blige

About All That I Can Say

"All That I Can Say" is a song by American recording artist Mary J. Blige. It was composed by fellow R&B singer and close friend Lauryn Hill, who also sang backing vocals, for Blige's fifth studio album Mary (1999). Released as the album's lead single, it became a moderate commercial success in both the United States and United Kingdom, peaking at numbers forty-four and twenty-nine, respectively. Blige garnered her sixth Grammy Award nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 42nd Grammy Awards. Blige performed the song live in addition to an impromptu appearance by Hill who performed a rap on the first incarnation of The Queen Latifah Show in September 1999. She also performed the song on Top of the Pops, and her performance was shown the week "All That I Can Say" charted.

Loving you is wonderful
Something like a miracle
Rest assured I feel the same way you do
Meeting you isn't hard
With you I can't let down my guard
Stay secure that's all I'm asking from you
(Stay secure)

I wish I had words to tell (I wish)
This feeling that I know so well
But I don't, I don't

All that I can say
(Do do, do do, do do, do)
All that I can say
(Do do, do do, do do, do)

All that I can say
(Do do, do do, do do, do)
All that I can say
(Do do, do do, do do, do)

I've always been curious
Meeting someone serious
Looking for someone who loves like me
But the day I stopped my search
It seemed that you were put on this Earth
To show me everything I could not see

I wish I could find a way
To tell you how I felt that day
But I can't (I just can't)
I can't

All that I can say
(Do do, do do, do do, do)
All that I can say
(Do do, do do, do do, do)

All that I can say
(Do do, do do, do do, do)
All that I can say
(Do do, do do, do do, do)

Hmm, oh
Knowing him, loving him
Showing him that I'm all him
Living and forgiving and
I would do it all again
Genuine, Seraphim
Sweeter than cinnamon
Heaven-sent gentleman
Sent him here for loving him
Oh, oh
Oh, oh

All that I can say
(Do do, do do, do do, do)
All that I can say
(Do do, do do, do do, do)

All that I can say
(Do do, do do, do do, do)
All that I can say
(Do do, do do, do do, do)

He's all that I can take
He's got a hold on me
I love you
Oh I don't want to live without you
You're all that I can say, hey
Loving you is wonderful
(Do do, do do, do do, do)
All that I can say
(Do do, do do, do do, do)
All that I can say
(Do do, do do, do do, do)
All that I can say
(Do do, do do, do do, do)
All that I can say
