Right Round

Flo Rida

About Right Round

"Right Round" is a song performed by American rapper Flo Rida featuring guest vocals from American singer Kesha. It was released as the lead single from his second studio album, R. O. O. T. S. (2009). It was released to radio on January 27, 2009 and was digitally released on February 10 by Poe Boy Entertainment and Atlantic Records. The song heavily interpolates the chorus of the Dead or Alive song "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" in its hook. According to one of the song's writers, the chorus refers to a stripper. Kesha contributed guest vocals to the song, but was uncredited in the United States and Canada during its run atop the charts. Despite receiving mostly negative reviews, with critics claiming it was kitschy and misogynistic, the song was a commercial success, reaching the top ten of the music charts in nineteen countries worldwide. In the United States, it became Flo Rida's second number-one single (staying at number-one for six consecutive weeks) and broke the record for first-week sales (636,000 downloads) when it was released to digital retailers; eventually, this record was broken by Adele's "Hello", which sold 1.11 million copies in its first week. The single's accompanying music video was directed by Malcolm Jones and nominated for an MTV Video Music Award. The song has been used in several movies, such as The Hangover, The Ugly Truth, Pilla Zamindar and Pitch Perfect, where the song is performed by the film's a cappella group The Treblemakers. The song is one of the best-selling singles of the digital era, with over 12 million certified downloads sold, making it Flo Rida's best selling single, and Kesha's second.

[Chorus]
You spin my head right round, right round
When you go down, when you go down down
You spin my head right round, right round
When you go down, when you go down down

Hey
Hopped out of that house with my swagger
Hop in that with girl, I got places to go!
People to see, time is precious
Look at my cotty out of control
Just like my mind where I'm going
No women, no shorties, no nothing but clothes
No stopping now, my parolees on role
I like my jewelry, that's always on gold
I know the storm is coming
My pockets keep telling me it's gonna shower
Call up my homies that's home
Then pop in the night cause it's meant to be ours
We keep a fade away shot cause we balling
It's platinum patron that be ours
Lil mama, I owe you just like the flowers
Girl you to drink with all that and power clubs

[Chorus]

From the top of the pole I watch her go down
She got me throwing my money around
Ain't nothing more beautiful to be found
It's going down down.
From the top of the pole I watch her go down
She got me throwing my money around
Ain't nothing more beautiful to be found
It's going down down

Hey
Shawty must know I'm the man
My money love her like a number one fan
Don't look at my mouth, let her talk to my fans
My Benjamin Franklin's
A couple of grands, I got rubber bands
My paper planes making a dance
Get dirty all night, that's part of my thing
Re-building castles that's made out of sand
She's amazing, the fire blazing
Hotter than Cajun!
Girl won't you move a lil' closer?
Time to get paid, it's maximum wage
That body belong on a poster
I'm in a daze, that bottom is wavin' at me
Like damn it I know you
You wanna show like a gun out of holster
Tell me whatever and I'll be your gopher

[Chorus]

From the top of the pole I watch her go down
She got me throwing my money around
Ain't nothing more beautiful to be found
It's going down down
From the top of the pole I watch her go down
She got me throwing my money around
Ain't nothing more beautiful to be found
It's going down down

I'm spending my money
I'm out of control
Somebody help me
She's taking my bank roll.
But I'm king of the club
And I'm wearing the crown
Popping these bottles
Touching these models
Watching they asses go down down

[Chorus: x2]

When you go down, when you go down down
