Doris Day

Doris Day (born Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff, April 3, 1922) is an American actress, singer, and animal rights activist, who began her career as a big band singer in 1939, but only began to be noticed after her first hit recording, "Sentimental Journey", in 1945. After leaving the Les Brown & His Band of Renown to try a solo career, she started her long-lasting partnership with Columbia Records, which would remain her only recording label. The contract lasted from 1947 to 1967, and included more than 650 recordings, making Day one of the most popular and acclaimed singers of the 20th century. The party really swung that night
But I didn't know a soul
And them someone said let's have fun
Bring out that limbo pole

They pushed right by me onto the floor
And I felt so left out
Till I felt someone take my hand
And heard that someone shout

Let the little girl limbo
Let the little girl limbo
Let the little girl limbo
Oh, you know she can go so low

And as they all let me through
He said you know what to do
Little girl you can limbo
I believe in you

First I limbo'd high
(Too high, you gotta go lower)
Then I began to try
(Nice try, but you gotta go lower)
Then I went so low
(So low, no one ever went lower)
(Oh, that girl can go)
Watch me now

I go to lots of parties now
And I always feel so proud
'Cause he's with me and I can see
Now I'm in with the crowd

And when that limbo music begins
We both smile with delight
'Cause ev'rybody begins to shout
The way he did that night

Let the little girl limbo
Let the little girl limbo
Let the little girl limbo
Oh, you know she can go so low

And as they all let me through
He said you know what to do
Little girl you can limbo
I believe in you

First I limbo'd high
(Too high, you gotta go lower)
Then I began to try
(Nice try, but we know you go lower)
Then I went so low
(So low, no one ever gone lower)
(Oh, that girl can go)
Watch me now
