The song has been covered a number of times, most notably by Motörhead whose version won a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance."Whiplash" was first played in October 23, 1982, and was one of the last songs they wrote for Kill 'Em All.

Metallica i/məˈtælɨkə/ is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California, whose releases include fast tempos, instrumentals, and aggressive musicianship that placed them as one of the founding "big four" of thrash metal alongside Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax.
