Sidney Bechet & His Blue Note Jazzmen was a jazz ensemble led by American jazz clarinetist and soprano saxophonist Sidney Bechet. The group was active during the 1940s and is known for their contributions to the traditional jazz and New Orleans jazz styles. Sidney Bechet's virtuosic playing, along with his distinctive tone and improvisational skills, helped to shape the development of jazz.
