The presents and goodies under the tree
A red comfy sweater, a secret gift giver
Twinkling lights and we'd sing 'holy night'
And it's not the way that it used to be, not for me
The magic is different these days
It looks like online shopping in late November
Going to Target after Thanksgiving dinner
Looks like matching pjs, buying a candle
Now that I'm older, is Christmas still wonderful
I stayed up late looking out from my window
Making a prayer, thanking God for his son
Now I keep missing the point of the season
Sometimes I forget that 'Oh Holy Night'
And it's not the way that it used to be, not for me
