Regret and shame
Had it's hold on me
I was drowning in my own toxicity
Guilt and pride
Had had its time with me
I was inclined to end my life
Mindless and numb
As I held the gun
I thought this was the end, life was a scam
And I was out of luck
As I cried and screamed and yelled in my car praying for answers I could still find no peace
So I scream
For the old man to leave, for a new me to wash anew
For I wish this to be over, oh God, push me through
Take me through this time of uncertainty
I want to live, and I want to see you
So if I make it through to tomorrow it is a blessing
But if I die tonight with you I'll be resting
Happy and alive
I look to the sky
And see the majesty
Of the great divine
No longer afraid
Of keeping it inside
