You blink you might miss this exquisite myth, rhythmic tidbit, fiction, innit? You blink you might miss the most tragic epilogue Of a man who travels on even though his vessel's gone My advice is listen twice to this pelagic pedagogue Yeah, you heard it, listen to this flowing docent water god Yes me, your humble narrator Plus Boss on the fader, we're mere world creators Crafting tracks from scratch so exact our minds match Getting closer to God in this modern theatre Have you ever felt a yearning sensation For using all your wisdom and your learning from the ancients? Like the man who washed ashore, overboard, years before Came to dream a man to life with an old earth cantation? He crawls to the temple's foundation The circular ruins have been long overtaken By the forces of nature, silvester, fertile protector Cutting through the jungle but with no trepidation! His turn to enter There's a bas-relief stela in the burnt out center Evidence of the zealots It's both foul and angelic, he bows to this relic Now without distractions that would intervene He closed his eyes and then soon he begins to dream A chaotic array of faces each with random features Surround him in all the seats of an amphitheater It's a question that I am faced with everyday If you had an audience what would you say? Could you liven your crowd up, no matter the odds In a lecture hall reaching as far as the stars? He dismissed the rest when one pupil shows promise Who makes progress now conscious of his conscience But after one night of a dreamless slumber The dreams don't return, and nor does the novice You blink and you'll miss it, while our vision is omniscient I'll revel with the javelin, Rib hits you with the discus Our mystic's insistent to revisit his apprentice So he ministers his mind both judicious and pernicious Despite the piercing sense of desiderium He abandons hope his disciple will appear again In near delirium, intoxicating concentration Lost in cogitation he begins another dream ascent! Have you ever pondered something so deeply That suddenly you realize that it's lost all meaning? So he starts over from the core, a coronary organ Two weeks dreaming of a heart but one not yet beating It's strenuous to cerebrate night on end He casts a boney frame so the heart might contend As the year ends dreaming every single hair and He makes a new being and celebrates quite content He tries to teach the girl but nothing sticks A simple golem, could nothing more come of this? He prays to the relic in the center of the temple Resembling a seahorse but more credibly a devil The marine deity makes him a deal See the girl lacks the essence to think breathe and feel Only the water god and the man will know the truth With the gift of quintessence and she'll think she is real The novice gains knowledge, the man's accomplished And sends her off to the metropolis to pay homage In time he hears of a woman who breathes underwater And fears that his daughter learned the truth of her father His remorse is cut short by a cloudburst As the rains rise he tries to clench his mouth pursed In disbelief the water he can breathe it in He realizes then that someone else is dreaming him! It's a question that I'm faced with every night Am I a man or a god, or something like an antichrist? Is this life, one long cognitive operation A fraught, nocturnal autonomic modulation? Long, wrought and prolonged, honestly It's dawned on me this all might be a simulation Oh gosh, if that's my raw approximation What's my obligation then to consecrate the ancients? Can dominant thoughts oxidate in moderation? If it hits different, it's a different connotation Is this concept, just some nonsense consummation? My mind's oscillating between these postulations Yo, in other words, speaking literally Is everything it seems, or am I living in a dream? Speaking real words, as real as you and me Is everything it seems, or are you living in a dream? Yo in other words, I mean it literally Is everything it seems, or am I living in your dream? Speaking real words, as real as you and me Is everything it seems, or are we living in a dream?
