Muck consisting of flesh and excrement leaves rings around my knees

Towering walls engraved in hieroglyphs
And the remains of broken fingernails
Failed attempts to escape
Unholy historical record
A millennia of pain

How long have I wandered?
My brain finally stirs
I've forgotten to ponder
My punishment still lingers
And for how much longer
An eternal march surrounded by human shaped husks

I feel nothing towards these echoes
The isolation weighs heavier still
The damage to my sanity has grown severe
God, Time, and men's goodwill
Each step becoming more obscure

Trudging for centuries
A fleeting image of disparate markings
Catch my eyes from a thousand-yard stare
My body contorts with excitement to take me there
A new path opens before me

Just as bleak but different at the very least
Have I gone this way before?
Desperate for some kind of transmutation

I cross the threshold of the door
What new terrors have I found?
Standing on rolling plains and hills
A new realm
And the domain of undiscovered horrors

A fool I stood before it
Oh great monolith terrible and strange
I crushed myself onto it
Several lifetimes of pain
Cacophonous hymns sang their ungodly refrain
My skull splits, my consciousness bursts
Until I bled
My bones splintered
Again and again
My existence ground
In mortar and pestle
