He’s a mixed up man and he spends his time in bed,
Doing all he can to anaesthetise his head.
Walking with a rainbow on the sidewalk where he roams,
There’s room inside his mind, but his feet are on his toes.
Even stormy weather cannot keep him where he goes,
Harlequin of concrete and always on his own.

He can see the plan in the shadow of his dreams,
The light that spans beam after beam against the screams
Of the children of the father who don't know what they've seen.
Ignoring the sounds he tries to seek a way serene.
Prophets of nonsense get right up his nose,
Inconsequential consequence holds no place he knows of.


As it often stands the truth falls just as hard,
But for the strands of love within his heart.
He can try to reason but he won't get very far,
He hopes his dreaming will take him to the stars.
