I do my time at the daily grind
Five days a week you know I don't mind
And next week I'll be ready again, I just need a good weekend
Same ol thing just a new day, I need to unwind and I need to play
Done my time and the week is through, and now it's time to,

Put away the sun, the work is all done
Let's make a beer run, crank that music loud
You know that we'll be singing all night
I work as hard as I play, got two dam days
To do it my way, I bust my butt all week
But the weekend always makes it alright
That's the story of my life
Story of my life

Alarm goes off and it's six a.m.
It's Monday morning you know I'm hurtin'
But I'll suck it up and be a man
'Cause there's only five days till the weekend
Same ol thing just a new day, I need to unwind and I need to play
I've done my time and the week is through, and now it's time to

Put away the sun, the work is all done
Let's make a beer run, crank that music loud
You know that we'll be singing all night
I work as hard as I play, got two dam days
To do it my way, I bust my butt all week
But the weekend always makes it alright
That's the story of my life
Story of my life

All I need are the simple things, and you know I'll enjoy the ride
A couple friends and a paycheck to burn
Another weekend to help me survive

Put away the sun, the work is all done
Let's make a beer run, crank that music loud
You know that we'll be singing all night
I work as hard as I play, got two dam days
To do it my way, I bust my butt all week
But the weekend always makes it alright
That's the story of my life
