Growing up in the village was so strange me mehn...
We had no tv no electricity
And only saw cars once a week
Yea this is Israel Nigeria

I work up very early in the morning kneel and pray
Then I picked up my phone and checked my Facebook page
The next thing I called my mum straight and check her health
She don't stay in the city she resides in the village
She was so glad about the cash I sent the other day
It's unfortunate she can't even remember her birthday
She was given out for marriage at the age of 13
16 she had the first kid but she lost it
All she ever did is local trading and crop farming
Her father died early so she didn't go to school
And women where meant to get married and reproduce
Stay in the kitchen
Feed all the kids and cook food
I can talk to u more
But the truth is too brutal
That's why I have to look the other way like I'm bribing u
I half an elder brother who was killed by vudu
The devil keep killing us and asking what will God do

Yea the Bible says God is never too late
I pray he comes for my rescue before it's too late

Yesterday makes 10 years since I lost my dad
He was suffering from diabetes and died of heart attack he was told not to eat this not to eat that
We used to go to the clinic the condition was so sad
But never once a day he complained he was a good man
He worked on the farm
Pray the Lord to bless his hands
Every morning food was Carbon hydrate and mostly yams
And most families didn't even have d yams
At the age of 16 I run away and left the village
Took the old box that my grand mother gave me
Don't wan to grow old in this place like my father did
Don't get me wrong I wasn't trying to Change my identity
My childhood was terrible
I grew up with no shoes
I used to tie leaves on the heels and go to school
Then we had a single teacher that will teach the whole school
I know a lot about poverty I've been there too yea

Despite the life challenges, I believe my life is going exactly as God intended
